Citizens for Sustainability (CiFoS)

Citizens for Sustainability (CiFoS) is a not-for-profit trust committed to building sustainable cities for all. Founded in 2016 by Sathya Sankaran, Subbaiah TS, Lalitha, Geetha and Vignan, CiFoS is a citizen-driven initiative, actively engaged with communities to address key areas like Energy, Mobility, Waste Management, Environment, and Liveability. Through measurement, impact evaluation, and evidence-based actions, CiFoS works to create resilient urban communities prepared for the future. Citizen empowerment is the key to their efforts, and by collaborating with various stakeholders, CiFoS drive initiatives that promote sustainable practices. Their goal is to ensure that citizens are empowered to make their cities sustainable and equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow.

Malleswaram Social

Malleswaram Social is a vibrant community of citizens from the Malleswaram area, dedicated to enhancing urban living through active involvement in mobility, solid waste management, greenery, urban governance, and more. Established in 2016 with the mission of strengthening community bonds, Malleswaram Social quickly became a pivotal force in addressing civic issues. The group gained widespread recognition through the viral ‘Bharatanatyam Saku Footpath Beku’ video, which spotlighted the need for better footpaths. One of their notable initiatives, Walkable Malleswaram, focuses on revitalizing conservancy lanes to make them more accessible and pedestrian-friendly. Current projects include transforming a local temple into a plastic-free zone and greening various black spots across Malleswaram, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more connected community.
